The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones was established in August 2020 by the Royal Decree 105/2020 to oversee the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, Al Mazunah FZ, Salalah FZ, Sohar FZ and any other special economic zone or free zone. There are 3 Free Zones in Oman, namely the Salalah Free Zone, Sohar Free Zone and Al Mazunah Free Zone. Oman also has 2 Special Economic Zones: the Duqm Special Economic Zone and Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
